Since arriving at Bellevue University, Dr. Freel has worked toward the design and implementation of an innovative approach to healthcare education, bringing together top learning leaders from several Fortune 500® organizations focused on improving the health of Americans. In addition, he has partnered with others in the Strategic Initiatives department on the development of asynchronous leadership programs for corporate partners.
Dr. Freel's research interests include leadership, cohort-based learning, and emotional intelligence for positive organizational outcomes. Currently, he is researching a grounded theory study of the cohort learning model for the Human Capital Lab and is a faculty member for Bellevue University's Ph.D. program in Human Capital Management. Dr. Freel earned his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, master's degree in health education from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, and bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
