Bellevue University's Human Capital Lab Named Bersin & Associates 2010 Learning Leader
March 9, 2010 - Bellevue University's Human Capital Lab,SM the organization devoted to developing innovative and valuable approaches to unlocking the long-term potential of human capital investments, was chosen as one of 25 organizations in the 2010 Bersin & Associates Learning Leaders Program. The Human Capital Lab was recognized for its innovation in learning and talent management as it brings together business and academic leaders to research, measure, and isolate the impact of learning investments.
"The Lab has established a national reputation for its research in human capital investment, management, and measurement and being named a Bersin & Associates' Learning Leader exemplifies our commitment to the industry," said Jennifer A. Moss, Ph.D., Director, Bellevue University's Human Capital Lab. "Last year the Human Capital Lab received an honorable mention in the Learning Leaders competition, so we've improved and grown throughout the past year and have plans to keep moving forward in 2010," added Moss.
In late 2007, Bellevue University founded the Human Capital Lab to study and share research about the relationships between learning, productivity, and human capital investment. Since then, the Lab has completed numerous research and measurement studies ranging from the productivity impacts of mentoring and sales training to assessments of the best use of tuition assistance. As a leader in corporate learning, Bellevue University relies on the Human Capital Lab to measure the business impact of the corporate learning programs the University has developed and implemented for Fortune 500 companies including The Home Depot, Verizon Wireless, ConAgra Foods, and other innovative organizations.
In 2009 the Lab announced a strategic alliance with Capital Analytics, Inc., a leading research firm on human capital investment, management, and ROI to support Bellevue University's growing body of knowledge in the field of human capital management and measurement. Throughout the past year, the two have been analyzing and measuring the impact of workforce development programs in the Omaha, Neb. metro as part of a large, national workforce development initiative funded by The National Fund for Workforce Solutions.
The Bersin & Associates' Learning Leaders Program is in its fourth year recognizing organizations that have developed and implemented effective and efficient approaches to employee learning and talent management, resulting in significant business improvement. The Program evaluates training and talent management solutions and services providers and organizations across technology, consumer products, media, financial services, telecommunications, real estate, and accounting and staffing services firms.
